Whispering Pines Stables

How we started:

My Family and I started our ranch, in love of horses. We moved south to have our own horses, just for pleasure riding. We gradually started making our ranch larger. Since we have just under 14 acres of spare pasture room, we decided to start boarding horses.

I taught myself how to ride (western) and jumping with my Morgan. We currently have 6 horses; a 16hh American Spotted Draft mare, a 17hh American Spotted Draft gelding, a 20 month old Quarter Horse filly, a yearling American spotted draft/Morgan filly,  and a 15.3hh Morgan gelding (all found on 'Our Horses' page). I have had experiance with horses for quite a few years now.

The first horse that we received at the ranch, was a 12 year old Percheron/Quarter horse, Sailor. He was our best trail riding horse though he heeved, and was allergic to dust. He sadly, past away mid-summer of 2012. (the date on his photo is incorrect)

We have also taken in some injured horses, and rescues. Rocky was a rescue that i took in from almost being slaughtered, along with her two miniature horse friends. We also took in an injured quarter horse (Bella) in 2011, her lower leg was completely cut open down to the muscle and bone (the date on her photo is incorrect). As you can see her right hind leg is torn open.

We recently took in a severely underweight Thoroughbred, gelding. Comet was approx. 13 year old. from the information I received from the previous owner, he was an ex race horse, and had broken his front right leg in a race as a 3 year old. He was steady, and strong but just kept losing more and more weight. Although Comet lost a tremendous amount of weight, all he needed was his teeth floated, and he was back to normal in no time! He is now with a new loving family!
